BASIC AVIATION TRAINING DEVICE

The BATD is perfect for introducing technical skill, situational awareness, navigational devices, and orientation to crew resource management. It also allows our new students to build their spatial orientation, motor skills, and most importantly, confidence. The basic aviation training device is also a great tool for more experienced pilots. On a BATD, the pilot is able to obtain and retain advance skills required in doing the more complicated maneuvers.

The aviation training device is used in Part 141 and Part 61 training. It may be introduced in the Private Pilot Course but is normally used in the Instrument Rating Course and Commercial Program. The BATD is located in American Winds and may be used at the convenience of the student and instructor based on their flight training curriculum. The best part about the BATD is the ability for students to continually train regardless of inclement weather conditions.

Benefits of the Basic Flight Training Device

  • 25 different aircraft, both single and multi-engine available
  • select from over 5000 airports from around the world
  • authorized in Part 61 & 141 training
