GEAUGA LAKE WILD WATER KINGDOM - Aurora, Ohio

Wildwater Kingdom boasts 16 splashtacular water slides, including Thunder Falls, our 100-ft. tall water slide complex. Whirl on the towering tornado, Liquid Lightning, where you'll spin within a huge funnel and then end with a splash. There are more than 70 wacky water gadgets for kids, plus full-service VIP cabanas. Come to where summer is wetter and better.


BRANDYWINE SKI RESORT

Don't you deserve a snow day? If you've spent your life growing up in a country where you've never seen snow, say no more. Come to Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort and learn to ski or snowboard. If that's too much for you, you can enjoy tubing! Climb up a hill and then sit in a tube as you tube down the slopes!

CEDAR POINT AMUSEMENT PARK - Sandusky Ohio

Cedar Point is a 364-acre amusement park located in United States on a narrow peninsula jutting into Lake Erie. It currently holds the world record for most roller coasters (17), one of which, Top Thrill Dragster, is the world's second tallest and second fastest roller coaster, reaching speeds of 120 mph (190 km/h) and a height of 420 feet (130 m). Cedar Point is also the only amusement park with four roller coasters that are taller than 200 feet (61 m). As of 2009, Cedar Point has more rides (75) than any other amusement park.

It also has a mile-long white sand beach, an outdoor water park (Soak City), an indoor waterpark and hotel (Castaway Bay), two marinas, several hotels, and Challenge Park, which features attractions such as go-karts, miniature golf, Ripcord and Skyscraper. Known as "Roller Coast, Cedar Point has been voted Best Amusement Park in the World" by Amusement Today for the past eleven years.


CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Chicago is a six hour drive from American Winds but students take advantage of flying there for their cross countries! See the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), Navy Pier, Millennium Park, enjoy deep dish Chicago style pizza and learn about the Great Fire of 1871.


PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA

Philadelphia's importance and central location in the colonies made it a natural center for America's revolutionaries. The city hosted the First Continental Congress before the war; the Second Continental Congress, which signed the United States Declaration of Independence, during the war; and the Constitutional Convention after the war. Several battles were fought in and near Philadelphia as well. After the war, Philadelphia served as the new United States' capital in the 1790s. In 1793, the largest yellow fever epidemic in history killed as many as 5,000 people in Philadelphia, roughly 10% of the population.
