  American Winds Flight Academy 

AWFA PROFESSIONAL PILOT PROGRAM (PPP)

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The student will obtain the knowledge, skill, and aeronautical experience necessary to meet the requirements for a commercial pilot certificate and a certified flight instructor certificate.

The Professional Pilot Program (P.P.P.) is designed for students who wish to become a career pilot. Whether your dream is to be a corporate pilot or work for the airlines, American Winds will give you the best preparation to fulfill your aviation goals.  Upon completion of the P.P.P., the student will receive a certificate of graduation from the P.P.P., and will receive the following pilots licenses: 

  • Commercial Pilot

  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) 

To be considered a graduate from the program, students MUST successfully complete the following courses:

AWFA offers placement assistance to students enrolled in the Professional Pilot Program.

 

Upon completion of the P.P.P. requirements, the Director of Academic Affairs will help guide qualified students through the process of finding employment.  The Director of Academic Affairs will review resumes, prepare the student for interviews, provide letters of recommendation based on the student’s performance in the program, and assist the student in finding the right job.

 

Participation in Placement Assistance Programs does not guarantee employment.

 

American Winds Placement Program

By training at American Winds Flight Academy, you are eligible to enroll in the American Winds Placement program offered exclusively by American Winds Flight Academy. With our placement program, graduates receive placement assistance to properly evaluate all professional options so the student can make good decisions regarding their professional aviation future.  Pilot placement assistance is reserved for American Winds Flight Academy graduates.  American Winds hires Flight Instructors who have received AWFA CFI training and successfully completed the hiring process. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

 

Follow these simple steps to an airline career: 

American Winds Flight Academy offers a direct path to an airline career.  You can join the ranks of students who have become First Officers on Air Carriers throughout the world. 

 

  1. Complete up to your Commercial Single/Multi Engine training at American Winds Flight Academy.
  2. Complete your CFI & CFII training. MEI is optional.  
  3. Upon earning approximately 600 - 800 hours total flight time including 50 Multi-Engine, and 300 - 400 dual instruction at American Winds Flight Academy or any other flight school, you will be in a position to begin the interview process with confidence knowing that you have the requirements to become a professional pilot.
  4. American Winds Flight Academy offers financial assistance to those who qualify.
