COMMERCIAL ADD ON CERTIFICATE

The Commercial Certificate will allow a pilot to have a career in aviation as a pilot.  The Commercial pilot may receive compensation for hire.  The Commercial pilot may be employed by a company but cannot "hold out" and act as a private charter pilot - advertising on his/her own. This course is for the Pilot that is already a Commercial Rating pilot in another category.  For example:  a helicopter commercial pilot.

A student may train under Part 61 or Part 141 rules depending how many flight hours they have.   After the student has obtained their Private Pilots License, typically, they will obtain their Instrument Rating.    Why?  There are very few Commercial pilots that do not fly in reduced visibility and sky conditions by the reference to flight instruments.   An example of a Commercial Pilot who would not need an Instrument Rating would be a pilot who flew as a tour guide pilot.  Of course you would want to see the aerial scenery on beautiful weather.

Course Objectives:

The Student will obtain the knowledge, skill, and aeronautical experience necessary to meet the requirements for an add-on of the FAA Commercial Pilot with an additional category rating.

Ground Training Includes:
Pre-flight preparation and procedures; complex aircraft procedures; complex aircraft systems; advanced aerodynamics principles; airplane performance limitations; federal aviation regulations; stall/spin awareness; aeronautical charts and publications; radio aids to VFR navigation; meteorology and weather data services; national airspace systems; radio communications; air traffic control; aeromedical factors; commercial operations; passenger and freight loading; night maneuvers; and ground   operations.

Flight Training Includes:
Pre-flight procedures; airport operations; maximum performance take offs and landings; maximum performance flight maneuvers; navigation and cross country flying; slow flight and stalls; complex aircraft operation; commercial flight maneuvers; emergency procedures; night operations; post flight briefing.

FAST TRACK TRAINING PROGRAM

Due to the high demand by the airlines and corporate charter for pilots, American Winds has taken our proven training program and adapted to a FAST TRACK program.

Don’t be fooled by National flight school chains that have paid recruiters trying to lure in Students by phony sales pitches.  “Get a Private license in 2 weeks or a Commercial license in 90 days.”   Students graduating from these flight schools spend their days flying with little or no ground training by the flight school or flight instructor.   Flight hours without quality ground training and academic studying is a complete waste of money!!!  Students must do their homework and demand a high quality flight training program for their money.  Students should expect their flight school of choice to have an excellent reputation in the aviation community.  Most importantly, Student should know with confidence that their aviation education will get them a quality job.

American Winds trains our FAST TRACK students with EVERY intention of one day hiring them as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).  We have hired 99.9% of our CFI Students.   We have a 100% pass rate with 7 FAA Designated Flight Examiners (DPE) for eight straight years.  American Winds has made national new and aviation history.   Our reputation for quality, leadership and customer service precedes us.

Students will use our quality flight syllabus to track their training progress.  Students will also use our FAA inspected airplanes with our standardized flight instructors.   All of this will be under the guidance of our Chief Flight Instructor.
